I’m a contributing photographer for iStock by Getty Images. iStock is one of the leading micro-stock photo agencies. Stock photography is a great source to find photos, illustrations, and videos to purchase for your own business. I have been doing on deep dives of my photographs to submit to iStock. My library is slowly growing with mostly nature photographs. The goal is to grow the library to include nature, outdoor lifestyle, travel, and food.
We will be going on more road trip and camping trips soon and with hiking trail networks in our area, there is always something beautiful to get outside to photograph. I have a small travel notebook that is a perpetual shot list that is always with me, so I’m able to jot down a photo idea or sketch it out.
The process to add to the library has been slow at times but very rewarding. I enjoy the photographing more than the editing, writing captions, and keywords. But, I’m excited to be a contributing iStock photographer and to where this leads and wish I could submerse myself 100% in this but the still working a 9-5 job. A solid two weeks would be ideal to see dive that 100% in and doing nothing else. Until the day that is possible to make Maureen Bates Photography my full time career, I’ll be adding photos weekly.
