Happy Internationals Left-Handers Day!! This day celebrates our uniqueness and differences as left-handers. About 10% of the world’s population is left-handed. We are more likely to have a higher developed right hemisphere of our brain. The right hemisphere of the brain is linked to creativity. Most of us are work as artist, musicians, and work in university settings. Being left handed runs in the family. There is no one gene that determines if you are left or right handed. Growing up in a right handed world I have to…struggle or adapt to things that are geared to right handed people. In school spiral notebooks, binders, and ball point pens were the bane of my existence. The spirals and binder rings were in the way and ball point pens are meant to pulled not pushed, so they didn’t work well for me and oh the ink on the pinky finger. Now, I start most of my notebooks from the back and use gel pens because they dry quickly. I have created a fun list of items for us lefties to celebrate us and to maybe make our lives a little easier in a world of righties!!
